MAEVE

Female Dog aged 7 years 1 month.

Maeve is one of three dogs who were taken in by a rescue worker after they were seen being advertised on a Free Ads site. This is a very risky thing to do with dogs, as they can very easily fall into very dangerous hands. Maeve and her friend were being given away by a farmer who had used them for working sheep and for breeding, but they were no longer of use to him so were simply being discarded. The rescue worker had them spayed and cared for until they could come to DBARC for rehoming. In her words: “They are gentle dogs, but lack confidence with people, they don’t look for attention but are so grateful for a kind word and a gentle stroke. They were not treated badly, but neither were they given any love, they were just there because they benefitted the farmer, then were just discarded when that was over” So this sweet girl is just looking for the person who will give her all the love she has never had, and that she will return many times over. She has not lived with children, so we would not wish to place her with youngsters under 10 years. She is very good with other dogs. She will need a kind and experienced dog owner to help her adjust to life in a loving home. DBARC has already rehomed one of the three dogs, and she has settled in beautifully to her new home. With patience and understanding, Anna will be a wonderful dog. She will need company most of the time.
